January 11, 2016, age 98, peacefully at Laguna Woods, CA, beloved wife of the late Buffalo Deputy Police Commissioner, Francis P. Gaughan; loving mother of the late Joanne (William) Carey, late Patrick F., Eugene M. (Kathleen) Gaughan, Mary Jane (John) Burns, Daniel J. (Micki), Mark S. and Paul G. (Chrisanne) Gaughan; dearest grandmother of 16 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one greatgreat-grandchild; sister of the late Elizabeth Mumm and the late Robert J. Cartus. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on January 16, 2016 at St. John Vianney, Balboa Island, CA. Private interment from the LATIMORE-SCHIAVONE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8434 North Main St., Angola at Lakeside Cemetery, Hamburg, NY. Jane was an early proponent of the West Seneca Developmental Center and Group Homes for the Disadvantaged. Memorials may be made to The Heritage Centers, 101 Oak St., Buffalo, NY.
